Packaging Tooling Solutions - Die Boards
Materials
All die's are laser cut on our
ELCEDE NCP220 1Kw Laser, with a VectoCut Controller with pulsing option. The VectoCut system allows us to precisely control the laser beam in all directions making the pointage highly accurate. Die board's are laser cut out of Birch plywood (12, 15, or 18mm), Clear Perspex (10mm), or Rayform (18mm) .
Birch die boards are varnished after laser cutting to seal the wood, and increase lifespan, strength and control dimensional stability in all climates.
Perspex die boards are useful for manual location on small runs.
Laserpac is the sole supplier of Rayform (or Tuff Pac) in South Africa, Rayform is an extremely stable composite which ensures die board accuracy in all climates.

CimLine
Laserpac's die shop is the only die shop in Southern Africa with an ELCEDE CimLine automatic rule processing system, making high speed, high quality die making a reality in South Africa. Parallel processing means that rules are manufactured while the die is being laser cut, and every die manufactured with CimLine is accompanied by an ISO9000 spec sheet. Spare rule may also be ordered, so that individual rules can be replaced on site. New rules may be ordered by quoting the filename and rule number (as supplied on spec sheet) without the need of the die, thus illuminating high freight charges. Broached rules eliminate unnecessary rule joins and reduces lips, which greatly reduces patch-up times and natural nicks.
Unbroached
When rule is bent, the
cutting edge is stretched
leaving a hollow which
will necessitate extra

Embossing
![]()
Laserpac manufactures two embossing location systems:
'Easyfit' embossing has a unique grub-screw system which allows embossing blocks to be adjusted quickly and accurately, eliminating the guesswork in adjustment.
'Quickfit' embossing locates block to the creases on each individual carton. This gives instant positioning of each block within a layout.
